Corona suspicion: ice hockey game in Timmendorf canceled

Since the beginning of the corona pandemic almost two years ago, there had not been a single positive case at the ice hockey regional league team CE Timmendorf. But now the Beach Devils from the Baltic Sea have also been hit. One player’s quick test was positive, the Ostholsteiners’ home game on Sunday (January 2nd / 7pm) against ECW Sande was canceled a few hours before the scheduled kick-off.

Timmendorfer ice hockey team in quarantine

So far, it’s just a precautionary measure. However, since the team was still training on the ice together on New Year’s Day, the team first went into quarantine at home. If a PCR test confirms the suspected case, however, there is a risk of further game failures in the Ostholsteiners.

Further game cancellations are threatened

In the worst case, the team of coach Michael Pohl would have to be in quarantine for two weeks, then the games in Adendorf (January 7th), at home against HSV (January 9th) and ECW Sande (January 14th) and at the Salzgitter Icefighters (January 16) will be canceled. A result of the PCR test is expected by Monday (January 3rd) at the latest.
