Players want to save Red Dead Online after the first update in 2022 failed properly

Red Dead Online has had a tough time for months. It’s a content drought and the first update in 2022 didn’t make it any better for fans. They now want to protest and put pressure on developers Rockstar.

What’s going on in Red Dead Online? Actually it started with the release hopefully for fans of RDO. Rockstar decided early on that there would be no expansions for the single player mode. One wanted to concentrate fully on the online mode.

So it was already known from GTA 5. The catch: It didn’t happen that way. For over a year, players have been complaining about not enough fresh content. At the time of release, Red Dead Online was almost unplayable due to bugs and glitches. It took a while until the problems could be resolved and then there were also content and updates and DLCs that brought new jobs, for example. In July 2021 the last DLC was released with “Blood Money”.

But almost nothing has happened in Red Dead Online for over half a year. As is so often the case, Rockstar prefers to take care of GTA Online. The 8 year old game is still receiving major updates.

After the last update in July 2021, RDO already received a first update in 2022. But that couldn’t improve the mood, because it didn’t bring any new content.

On the contrary: Numerous fans are now mobilizing in the subreddit and on Twitter to save the game.

Fans keep #SaveRedDeadOnline on Twitter trending to put pressure on

What exactly is required? The demands are simple: more content and a roadmap. These are the things that a lot of people are asking for.

This is how players want to save RDO: After the first update in 2022 turned out to be a disappointment, some loyal players found themselves forced to act. They are now trying to draw attention to RDO via reddit and Twitter and to get developer Rockstar to take more care of the game.

The Twitter hashtag “#SafeRedDeadOnline” (via Twitter) kept by numerous fans and supporters in the gaming trends. In the meantime, the Hastag had over 18,000 tweets in one day. (via reddit)

Players also dressed up as clowns in-game to show what they think of Rockstar’s support for RDO. Since then, people have been asked every day to follow the hashtag and continue until Rockstar becomes aware of the topic.

Everything repeats itself, all the missions, the tasks, the collectibles etc … everything is simply missing. And that with a game that is literally 4 years old? You’d think there was something [in der Zeit] changed … ”(via reddit.com)

Fans also receive support from various other communities, including that of GTA Online.

Despite the content drought, Red Dead Redemption 2 is still very popular on Steam. The community remains active despite everything.
