The trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Pinocchio’ points to a recovery on Netflix of all the magic of stop-motion animation

Only a few previous designs of Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Pinocchio’ had been seen for Netflix like the one above, but Finally, a first teaser lands that, although brief, already makes it clear where the aesthetic shots are going to go in the film. A Jiminy Cricket announcing that he lives in the heart of the protagonist (we assume not figuratively) gives rise to the logo of the film, which for now we know will be released in December, so there is a whole year before us before the premiere.

Del Toro, who has premiered this very week the wonderful and dark ‘The Alley of Lost Souls’ in theaters, will carry out a reinvention of the classic novel by Carlo Collodi about a wooden doll in the shape of a child that comes to life, and has been adapted numerous times. The most famous, and from whose shadow it is difficult to escape, the 1940 Disney animation.
