Major Twitch Streamer Unbans 25,000 People – It’s Going Your Way

Twitch streamer Matthew “Mizkif” Rinaudo wanted to give banned viewers a second chance in his chat and unbanned a whopping 25,000 people. How that ended, we report from MeinMMO.

This is Mizkif:

  • He is one of the biggest streamers on Twitch and has almost 27,000 subscribers and 1.8 million followers.
  • On average, 27,000 people watch his streams.
  • Mizkif was in former Twitch streamer Ice Poseidon’s inner circle and was his cameraman. He is now one of Ice Poseidon’s “heirs” on the live stream platform.
  • When Mizkif gambles and isn’t stuck in the “just chatting” area, he plays games like League of Legends, Super Mario 64, or Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

Between hate, spam and love – viewers escalate

What happened before the ban? Mizkif lovingly adorned his live stream title with the words: “I’ll unban 25,000 people before I start… That could get ugly… watch.”

Before starting the process, he again emphasized how crazy his action was. In addition, Rinaudo hired ten new moderators for the chat, who should again ban people who can’t behave again. However, Mizkif believed that everyone deserves a second chance – some bans were unfair and years ago.

So love the Unbanning: When Mizkif started the bot under epic music to unban people, he knew: “The chat is going to be hell. Pure chaos.”

He was right, as some viewers went straight to insulting the streamer and spamming pointless messages into the chat. Most of these were immediately banned.

However, it turned out that some really deserve a second chance: A few messages in the chat reported how they wrote something stupid years ago and still regret it to this day. They were grateful to be able to join the chat again.

The chat and the unbanned people celebrated the campaign with lots of donations, subscriptions and followers. One viewer even donated $100 as a thank you.

Mizkif jokingly suggested that anyone who has been unbanned should leave him with an Amazon Prime subscription. In fact, some viewers did.

For the most part, however, the action seems to have been positive. His loyal viewers in particular were happy to finally be a full part of the community again. The trolls and insults have been banned again for the entire stream.
