WoW: Some players cheat, carry 7 Legendaries at the same time

WoW 7 Legendaries

Two legendary items should be the maximum. “It doesn’t matter”, some World of Warcraft players think and simply carry 7 at the same time.

Legendary items are important in World of Warcraft—especially in the current Shadowlands expansion. They account for a large part of the character’s power and even give new, passive effects. Therefore, these items are also drastically limited. A maximum of 2 can be worn by a character at the same time and only in very specific combinations – one would think so.

Some players simply carry 5, 6 or even 7 legendary items at the same time and thus have almost infinitely strong characters.

What happened? in the World of Warcraft subreddit was that Video from a Twitch streamer shared which tackled the Jailer in the Mythic Raid Mausoleum of the First. Shortly before the start of the fight, the paladin briefly opens his character window and apparently does something unusual:

Not only does he carry 2 legendary items, as he should, but 7!

WoW 7 Legendaries
7 legendary items at the same time – a clear use of an exploit.

Where is the error coming from? This bug is not entirely new. He already showed up on the Patch 9.2 PTR. There, many legendary items didn’t have the “Unique-Equip” suffix, resulting in players being able to equip multiple legendary items at once. The bug was fixed on the PTR, but it’s obvious that another variant of this exploit has wormed its way into the live version.

By exploiting a bug, it is possible to place the Unity Legendary on all possible slots. This only grants the associated passive effect once – but the item level of 291 on many slots leads to massive character values and an extremely optimized character. Such values simply cannot be achieved with conventional equipment.

Just the fact that you are wearing 7 items at item level 291 with exactly the best secondary values makes the character much stronger than it would be possible in a normal way.

Can you take advantage of that? no It is impossible to find this bug “accidentally” and then “accidentally” create 7 legendary items and use them. Anyone who exploits the error can probably expect to receive a hefty account penalty in the coming days. So we advise all players not to exploit this bug if they care about their game access.

Of course, this is still an uncomfortable situation for Blizzard, because they actually thought they had already turned off this bug on the test server.

It should only be a matter of time before Blizzard fixes the error and imposes account penalties.
