Disney Dreamlight Valley: Animal Crossing Competition in Disney Heroes’ Valley

Disney Dreamlight Valley (Simulation) von Disney

Cooking, gardening, shopping & more: In Disney Dreamlight Valley you create an avatar and spend your day with the biggest Disney heroes. A declaration of war on the second most successful Nintendo game.

After the fun racer Disney Speedstorm (we reported two days ago), the team from developer Gameloft and Disney is once again poaching in Nintendo realms: Disney Speedstorm imitates Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the most successful switch game with 43 million games sold (as of the end of 2021 ). And Disney Dreamlight Valley is clearly based on Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the second-place title in the Switch bestseller list (with still an incredible 37 million games sold).

What awaits us in Disney Dreamlight Valley? A colourful, once-merry Disney potpourri land that has been cast by a dark curse. And only you, the self-created player avatar, can heal the virtual world again and then have a lot of fun – at least that’s how it looks in the glossy trailer (see below). Cooking with Rmy from Ratatouille, tilling the field with the cute Wall-E, fishing with Goofy, taking selfies with Elsa, going for a walk with Timon & Pumba, making friends with Woody. In addition, the very important Animal Crossing components: furnishing the house, shopping, dressing.

Like the Disney racer, it all looks technically competent – and of course all the bang comes for all platforms: PC, Mac, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. An early access phase is scheduled to start this year, with the final launch scheduled for 2023. Disney Dreamlight Valley will be a free-to-play game, so in all likelihood we can expect a slew of paid content designed to give us the beautiful Disney life.
