Guardians complain about useless grenades in Destiny 2 - "Bungie don't nerf, they kill everything"

In Destiny 2, grenades got it cold. Guardians not only accuse Bungie of the uselessness of some bombs, but also that the developer kills everything that is somehow fun in the loot shooter. MeinMMo tells you how badly the grenades hit it.

Which grenades did it hit? In hotfix 4.0.1.1, grenades got hit hard. Not only those of all guardians, but above all those of the hunter. The following grenades have been degraded:

  • Hunter’s Jump Grenade – Arc
  • Axion bolt grenade of all classes – Void
  • Dawn Field Grenade with Hunter Exo Renewal Grips – Stasis

Since Bungie previously nerfed the Hunter Exo’s Renewal Grip to the Stasis Grenade, the dawn field grenade nerf came as no surprise.

However, the nerf to the Axion Blitz and Jump Grenade has surprised many Guardians. While these bombs are either unpopular or even easy to counter, they were pounded into the ground and Guardians fail to understand. They even talk about Bungie not nerfing, but even completely killing skills.

Not only bad in PvE, but also bad in PvP

How bad is the nerf? The changes for the bombs in Hotfix 4.0.1.1 mainly affected PvP. Increased the cooldown to 152 seconds for the Stasis and Void grenades. So you can no longer spam the little helpers and have to wait until you can use them again in PvP after a long wait.

The jump grenades were hit even harder. They have been nerfed in both PvE and PvP modes to the point of being completely useless. A Guardian tested the extent of the change in PvP on YouTube. Here we have included the video for you:

The grenades have been nerfed so badly that they no longer manage to break enemy shields.

Once upon a time, these same grenades were considered terrors in PvP. A hunter equipped with the Shinobu’s Pledge exo could return grenade charge on hit through the exotic perk New Tricks, and even grant you an additional charge of those tracking bombs.

Despite the fact that the grenades led an unpopular existence and hardly anyone played with them, Bungie nerfed them. As a result, some Guardians are assuming there is more to these changes.

Why were the arc grenades nerfed so hard? Guardians think it has something to do with the move to Arkus 3.0. Kevin Yanes, one of Destiny 2’s sandbox leads, is on posted on Twitterthat changes have already been implemented in Hotfix 4.0.1.1 for additional 3.0 capabilities.

It’s standard for Bungie for such changes to be incorporated into Destiny 2 with the actual 3.0 transition. That’s why the user said harmlessbug on reddit that Bungie had found such a bad bug that they had to address immediately before the release of the upcoming Season 17 element switch to fix it.

Despite this, Bungie has managed with this nerf to make an already unpopular jump grenade completely useless. It remains to be seen if Arkus 3.0 might offer the Guardians aspects and fragments that will improve certain grenades again.

What do you think of the grenade changes in Destiny 2? Do you all think this is justified or is Bungie overdoing it and should you have waited to see how the community responded? Let us know how you feel about it in the comments!
