As part of today’s broadcast Spring Showcase Publisher 505 Games has released the new title from Swedish developer The Bearded Ladies, the studio behind Mutant Year Zero – Road to Eden (in the test, grade 8.5) and Corruption 2029 (in the test, grade 7.5) announced.

The first teaser trailer too Miasma Chronicles shows the human protagonist Elvis attempting to trick a floating anomaly into opening a portal. For this he uses a glove with electronic components, which is a bit like the Gravity Gloves Half-Life Alyx (in the test, grade 9.5) remembered. However, the attempt fails, whereupon Elvis “brother”, the robot Diggs, intervenes and extinguishes the glove that has caught fire.

In the world of Miasma Chronicles, the bleak future is marked by a phenomenon called Miasma. You help the two brothers find their mother, and other characters will join them as the game progresses. The Bearded Ladies describes the title as a “tactical adventure” with gameplay intended to be similar to previous titles from the studio, so you’ll be engaging in turn-based battles again. The Swedish studio says they want to build on their strengths in character and world building even more with Miasma Chronicles and make the title more accessible to a larger audience, without losing sight of what makes The Bearded Ladies games special.

Miasma Chronicles is scheduled for release in 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
