Nvidia update on ray tracing and DLSS: Hitman 3, F1 22 and 10 more games

from Claus Ludewig
During Nvidia’s official live stream at Computex 2022, the graphics card manufacturer revealed that another 12 PC games will receive support for DLSS and some ray tracing, including Hitman 3 and F1 22.

Nvidia has been offering DLSS technology with the RTX 2000 series since 2018 to improve the performance of the graphics cards without the image quality suffering too much. To do this, an algorithm is used that uses deep learning. However, game developers must first adapt their PC games to take advantage of DLSS. There are now over 250 appropriately adapted video games and applications. At the Computex 2022 technology fair, Nvidia revealed that 12 more PC games to get DLSS support soon will. This includes Hitman 3 and EA Sports F1 22, which are also beautified with ray tracing.

These PC games will soon get support for Nvidia DLSS

As of today there is a corresponding Geforce Game Ready driver that will add Nvidia DLSS to Hitman 3. DLSS is still version 2.3. Competitor AMD recently countered with FSR 2.0. In addition to DLSS, Hitman 3 and the July 1st F1 22 will also have ray tracing support. The Agent 47 hitman action game includes ray-traced reflections and ray-traced shadows, while F1 22 also features ray-traced ambient occlusion and ray-traced transparent reflections. Loopmancer will support rac-traced reflections in addition to DLSS. DLSS is also planned for Deep Rock Galactic (along with DLSS and DLAA), Ghost, Hydroneer, Leap, My Time at Sandrock, Propnight, Raji: An Ancient Epic, Turbo Sloths, Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong and Warstride Challenges. In June, support for Nvidia Reflex will be built into Icarus, which will also be available in My Time at Sandrock.

In addition to the integration of Nvidia DLSS in other PC games, Nvidia also announced a collaboration with the Taiwanese manufacturer Asus at Computex 2022. This should result in a gaming monitor with Full HD resolution, which offers a TN panel with a refresh rate of 500 Hz. It is unknown when the monitor will be launched. There were no announcements at Computex 2022 about new Nvidia graphics cards for gamers. After all, the OLED TVs from the Philips OLED 807 and OLED 707 series will soon receive official support for the Geforce Now cloud gaming service, which can then be played directly in the Philips TVs with Android TV. In addition, the Smart TVs mentioned support G-Sync Compatible.
