Star Fox 64/Lylat Wars – Retro Hall of Fame to the action classic
The action game released in Germany under the name Lylat Wars in 1997 is better known internationally under the title Star Fox 64. It’s a shooter in which we’ll shoot down enemies en masse in 15 varied levels ranging from different planets to an asteroid field and the sun. We spend most of the time in our battleship Arwing, which is equipped with lasers and bombs, but sometimes we are also on the road in a tank or in a submarine. Because different paths can be unlocked, the replay value is high. In addition to the story campaign, a local multiplayer mode for up to four players is included, in which you can compete against each other.

The first Paper Mario not only impressed with its cute look.
Even if it may seem so at first glance, Paper Mario is not a Jump&Run, but a real role-playing game with an innovative turn-based combat system. We’ll also have to solve tricky puzzles in search of Princess Peach, who has been kidnapped once again, controlling not only Mario but also various of his friends. In addition, Paper Mario is of course characterized by its cute diorama look, in which all the characters look like they have been cut out of paper. Visually, it has held up much better than many other 3D games of its time. Acclaimed by fans and critics, the RPG has had six sequels so far, the most recent of which Paper Mario: The Origami King.
The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask
Majora’s Mask is darker than its predecessor and introduces a new time warp mechanic.
The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask is the second Zelda game for N64 and comes at least close to the predecessor with a rating of 95 points on Metacritic. Game mechanics are very similar to Ocarina of Time, but Majora’s Mask is more difficult and has a comparatively dark atmosphere. The creative time loop mechanism is new: Link only has three days to complete various tasks to prevent the moon from falling to earth. Since one hour in the game corresponds to one minute in reality, you only have 72 minutes. However, Link can always turn back the clock through the so-called Anthem of Time.
