The Polish games group CD Projekt has presented its business figures for the first quarter of 2022. This shows, among other things, that the sale of digital versions of Cyberpunk 2077 (in the test, PC Note 10.0) has increased significantly since the release of the next-gen upgrade on February 15. A bar chart shows the approximate sales volume in the period from 01.01.-14.02. and from 15.2.-31.3. 2022 and the difference is obvious (see title picture). However, the presentation lacks concrete figures. Paul Tassi from forbes however, used image processing software to examine how often the bars of the left diagram fit into the right diagram. Assuming the scale is the same for both, sales are up 6x on Playstation consoles and 8x on Xbox consoles. Specifically, CD Projekt reported an estimated 18 million units of Cyberpunk 2077 sold in April 2022. Important for classification: Shortly after the launch in December 2020, the Polish company reported 13 million units sold.

Overall, the CD Projekt group states that it had sales of 216 million Polish zlotys (about 47 million euros) in the first quarter of 2022, most of which can be traced back to Cyberpunk 2077 (other sources of income are the GOG game shop, Gwent and The Witcher-Monster Slayer).

A second table shows how, in terms of the size of the internal teams, the focus of patches and next-gen upgrades for Cyberpunk 2077 has now shifted to the development of the DLC for the futuristic RPG. While Patch 1.6 is still planned for the coming months, the Cyberpunk DLC is scheduled to appear in 2023 and a supposed leak recently revealed quite a few details about the scope, story and locations. It also seems like it might stick with a DLC other than originally planned. Expressed in an investor conference Adam KicinskiCEO of CD Projekt, “Cyberpunk 2077 expansion will be the last product based on the RED Engine, all further products will run on Unreal.”

A small team is also listed that is working on the next-gen version of The Witcher 3 takes care. CD Projekt also announced that pre-production of the fourth The Witcher-roleplay had started.
