After the success of Null Build, a first-person mode could soon be coming to Fortnite. A dataminer has already shared a first screenshot.

Cary, North Carolina – Fortnite is almost never static. In what feels like every week, Epic Games and People Can Fly are throwing out new features, items and events that keep the gameplay and map in Battle Royale constantly changing. One of Fortnite’s most fundamental features could be about to change in the near future. As a dataminer has found, a first-person camera could be coming to Fortnite soon.

Fortnite: Dataminer hints at work on new first-person camera

Where does the information come from? As is so often the case, the dataminer HYPEX is responsible for the current Fortnite leak. On his Twitter account, things are pretty much all about the latest Fortnite news and upcoming Battle Royale features. As a rule, HYPEX is considered to be quite reliable, and the insider also announced leaks for the Season 3 live event in Fortnite in advance.

What does the leak show? In a June 7 Twitter post, HYPEX shows an in-game screenshot of what appears to be someone playing Fortnite from a first-person perspective. It is said that Epic Games started working on a first-person camera after the last update. However, HYPEX does not yet have any further information on the feature, as it is still at a very early stage of development at Epic Games.

Incidentally, the posted image from the game is not new, or was created by HYPEX itself. In fact, the screenshot is from a 2020 video where a user named “nellaf” showed how Fortnite would work with a first-person mode. Incidentally, it is not known at this point whether the modified camera will be limited to its own mode, or whether it will become an option that can be switched on and off at any time. However, HYPEX thinks that a first-person camera would work very well, especially in zero-build mode.

When could the feature come? Ultimately, it’s not even unlikely that a first-person camera will come to Fortnite. Several other Fortnite insiders and news accounts, such as Edward Preach, have also given hints about the feature. The only question is whether the new camera mode will come this season. In Season 3 of Fortnite there were some gameplay changes, so the North Carolina developer studio could reserve such a new feature for a future season.
