The girl Lana is accompanied on her journey by Mui, who looks suspiciously like a black cat to some of you. The two must work together to advance.

It’s all about this: The sci-fi adventure was announced at last year’s Summer Game Fest, and a gameplay trailer was shown at the Day of Devs show following this year’s event. This was commented on by Creative Director Adam Stjärnljus.

This is the story: We play the girl Lana, who sets out to look for her sister. The world, which at first glance seems idyllic, is being invaded by a robot army that has kidnapped Lana’s sister. Sounds pretty dark at first and like a dangerous mission for a little girl – but luckily there’s Mui.
The trailer shows how the two meet and Stjärnljus describes Mui as intelligent and loyal, and that’s necessary because the two companions can often only solve puzzles together. For example, we see Mui flicking a switch that reveals an organic looking bridge for Lana.

In addition, the little creature has special powers and can control strange-looking creatures. However, Mui is not only a gameplay mechanic wrapped in a cute body, but also has its own character. For example, she brings with her fears that she can only overcome with Lana’s help.
The title is slated for release later this year for Xbox One, Series X/S and PC.

Of course, Elden Ring is a masterpiece, but the game that will probably always sit at the top of my favorite titles of all time is The Last Guardian – simply because this journey was an experience that can hardly ever be surpassed in terms of emotionality and uniqueness.
Of course, I immediately prick up my ears when someone tells me that I have to solve puzzles together with a mystical creature in a game. I also like Planet of Lana’s pretty graphic style and I’m thrilled that a creature has been created here that is depicted in a very minimalistic manner, but which immediately appeals to me. I also think it’s very important that Mui has his own character, because for me Trico only came alive through his stubbornness (even if it can drive you crazy).
Seems like a lot of love went into this little adventure and I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on it.
