The Last of Us Part 1 comes as a remake for PS5 and PC new to the market. There’s only one trailer so far, but that’s not stopping the tech guys at Digital Foundry from doing their thing. Here is an extremely detailed comparison of the different versions of The Last of Us.

The Last of Us Part 1 is a remake: Accordingly it became complete game all over again from scratch developed. The content and story will remain largely the same, but that’s what the Graphics a massive overhaul receive. This starts with textures and lighting, but goes all the way to completely new ones Character models and facial animations.

The result: The Last of Us Part 1 looks very much better looking than the original and is too much nicer than the remaster. Wear one less stylized and much more realistic representation at. Also the facial animations are now really lip sync and the character models look like their counterparts in the second The Last of Us. The vegetation looks more real, as does the lighting.

Even the Movement of Ellie’s eyes are much closer to reality this time than they were just a few years ago. It is perhaps important to note that the Cutscenes in the original The Last of Us around pre-rendered scenes acted and this be calculated in real time in the remake.

Also compared to The Last of Us Part 2 the remake of the first part does very well. As aptly noted in the Digital Foundry video, the scenes featured in both games would be, hard to tell apartif we didn’t know which is which.
