As we all eagerly await Metroid Prime 4, the remake and remaster rumors linger.

There is still no trace of Metroid Prime 4. But there is now exciting news about a possible remaster of the first parts. To be more precise: Two insiders assume that we will get at least the first Metroid Prime this year in a remastered version for the Nintendo Switch. This Metroid Prime remaster could then become the basis for subsequent Metroid Prime 2 and Metroid Prime 3 reboots. But none of this has been confirmed yet.

Metroid Prime remaster is said to be coming for the big anniversary

For the Nintendo Switch no remaster of the venerable Metroid Prime parts has been released yet. But while we wait for Metroid Prime 4, rumors of a reboot of previous titles persist, especially around the former Metroid Prime. According to insiders Jeff Grubb and Emily Rogers, it should be released later this year.

Remaster could appear in November: Jeff Grubb is off the mark from time to time, but is still considered well informed. According to him, the Metroid Prime remaster for the Nintendo Switch will be one of Nintendo’s big holiday releases. He believes a launch to coincide with the 20th anniversary could be on November 17th (via: Twitter).

Another insider confirms this: Insider Emily Rogers, who is particularly well connected with regard to Nintendo, also explains that a remaster of Metroid Prime will be released for the Nintendo Switch. The work on it had already been completed during the summer. So nothing stands in the way of a release in autumn.

What about Metroid Prime 2 and Metroid Prime 3?

Emily Rogers cannot say anything more specific about the two successors. Originally it was planned to publish the two sequels Metroid Prime 2 and Metroid Prime 3 with the same improvements that come into play in the remaster of the first part. However, that was apparently in 2017 or 2018 and it remains unclear whether anything has changed.

Jeff Grubb says Metroid Prime will get a full remaster treatment. But Metroid Prime 2 and Metroid Prime 3 might just get some minor tweaks like new controls or the like when they come to the Nintendo Switch as well. However, he seems quite sure that the two successors will also come to the switch (via: Twitter).
