Blizzard takes over a new studio and lets it work on WoW

Blizzard Entertainment has acquired the indie development studio Proletariat for an unspecified sum.

Proletariat is responsible for the Battle Royale Spellbreak and is intended to support the development of World of WarCraft in the future.

From Spellbreak to Dragonflight

To report According to the studio has been working with Blizzard since May and is involved in the development of the upcoming WoW expansion Dragonflight.

Earlier this week, Proletariat announced that it would stop developing Spellbreak, and the game’s servers will go offline in early 2023.
