Pac-Man World Re-Pac: Remake of the 3D platformer will be released in August

Pac-Man World is getting a remake! The new edition of the 1999 3D platformer is scheduled for release in August for all current platforms. In line with the announcement, a first trailer with game scenes was shown at yesterday’s Nintendo Direct Mini.

Remake of a classic

The 3D platformer Pac-Man World enjoyed great popularity in the late 1990s. Around 1.5 million copies sold, two sequels and 23 years later, the PlayStation classic is now being reissued as Pac-Man World Re-Pac.

According to publisher Namco Bandai, the remake includes HD graphics, an improved user interface and customized controls. In Pac-Man World, Pac-Man must free his friends (Pac-Mom, Pac-Boy, Pac-Sis, Professor Pac, Pac-Buddy and Pooka) from the clutches of the ghosts while completing six areas of Ghost Island. Pac-Man has numerous skills and power-ups at his disposal, which he uses against his enemies.

In addition to the quest mode, there is also a maze mode in which Pac-Man has to navigate through 3D mazes. A complete version of the original Pac-Man is also included.

Pac-Man World Re-Pac will be available on August 26th for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and Nintendo Switch appear.
