There is no question that God of War 2: Ragnarök will also appear in a Collector’s Edition or Special Edition. But what these special editions of the game contain remains exciting. According to a supposed leak, that could be at least partially certain: There is said to be an edition of the God of War sequel, in which we also get a replica of Thor’s hammer Mjölnir.

God of War 2: Ragnarök editions may already have been partially leaked

That’s what it’s about: God of War is getting a sequel and that’s keeping the gaming world in suspense. Actually, it was said by several insiders that the release date should finally be revealed yesterday. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen, but we may still know a little more about the new PS4 and PS5 Exclusive. There are said to be two special editions that are said to include various extras (via: exporter)

  • Collector’s Edition: God of War 2 should also appear as a collector’s edition and then contain various different goodies. For example a map of the game world, some badges and more.
  • Jotnar Edition: The other special edition is said to be called the Jotnar Edition and comes with a 1:1 replica of Thor’s hammer Mjolnir.

However, Tom Henderson contradicts himself in his exputer article and initially states that the hammer is part of the Collector’s Edition. However, it is then said that it belongs to the Jotnar Edition, which contains nothing but the game and the hammer. We assume that it is meant as stated above.

Here you can see it again God of War 2 trailer which also features Thor’s hammer Mjolnir:

How serious is that? Tom Henderson is generally considered to be fairly well informed. But the insider and journalist has sometimes been wrong. In general, of course, we advise, as always, to treat such leaks as unconfirmed speculation until there are official announcements. Sony didn’t want to comment further on the rumor towards GamePro.

Would you want to get such an edition with the hammer?
