The Witcher 3: Mod brings overhaul of the combat system

from Alexander Ney
The “Combat Resource Overhaul” modification for The Witcher 3 gives the role-playing game a more multi-faceted combat system. On the one hand, it unlocks Geralt’s special abilities and witcher’s marks, while making melee attacks cost stamina and using marks. The mod also rebalances combat abilities, status effects, and focus regeneration.

If the combat system of the open-world role-playing game The Witcher 3 wasn’t challenging enough, you should take a look at the new “Combat Resource Overhaul” modification. Here the modder “KiroKobra” has reworked the skirmishes so that melee attacks consume stamina and the use of witcher signs, which cast up to three times, costs focus points. The mod also changes the war trance system in that Geralt regenerates focus points from successful melee attacks, raised cover, and dodges. KiroKobra has also rebalanced combat skills, status effects, and focus regeneration. Mind you, Combat Resource Overhaul unlocks Geralt’s special abilities and witcher signs, making this mod more suitable for those who have played The Witcher 3 before. All details about the mod can be at this point read.

Would you like a little facelift?

To make the battles modified by KiroKobra look even more appealing, we recommend the “The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project” mod, which has been available since 2020. In addition to 4K textures, it offers a higher display distance and swears to have remained true to CD Projekt’s artistic vision. This must be worth at least 9.3 gigabytes of hard disk space to you, including all optional packages, it needs that much more. If you want to get a more detailed impression of the modification before installing it, read our detailed test.

In May, CD Projekt Red completed research on The Witcher 4 and moved into pre-production of the game. This means that both the setting and the characters of the game could still be in the making right now. The technical substructure of the sequel, on the other hand, is carved in stone – here the developer switched from his own Red Engine (Cyberpunk 2077) to Unreal Engine 5.
