The Taiwanese monitor manufacturer AOC presents the successor to the current U28G2XU with the new 28-inch U28G2XU2 gaming monitor. This comes up with a refresh rate of 144 Hz and a UHD resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels.

The next gaming monitor is coming up at AOC: It is the U28G2XU2, the successor to the U28G2XU. With the AOC Gaming U28G2XU2, the manufacturer promises detailed images in high resolution and high refresh rates for a smooth, jerk-free gaming experience without ghosting. In numbers, the whole thing looks like the new gaming monitor achieves a refresh rate of 144 Hz, paired with 4K on a screen diagonal of 28 inches.

AOC Gaming U28G2XU2: features, ports and more

The U28G2XU2 is DisplayHDR-400 certified and is said to offer integrated Adaptive Sync technology to support VRR implementations, while the IPS panel’s response time is 1ms gray to gray with a contrast ratio of 1000:1. In terms of color specifications, the U28G2XU2 monitor covers 99 percent of the sRGB space and 93 percent of the DCI-P3 color space. The brightness comes to 370 cd/m²; the pixel density of the display is 157 pixels per inch. To protect the eyes, the U28G2XU2 should have a mode with a low blue component and flicker-free technology.

With two HDMI 2.1 and two DisplayPort 1.4 interfaces, the U28G2XU2 offers four different video sources. Two of these sources can be viewed simultaneously using Picture-by-Picture and Picture-in-Picture modes. A 4-port USB 3.2 hub is also part of the monitor portfolio. According to AOC, the U28G2XU2 still supports the Xbox Series S and Series X as well as the Playstation 5 with 120 Hz and 4K resolution with HDR and VRR enabled.

In addition, the U28G2XU2 has an ergonomic stand – with which the display can be adjusted in height by 130 mm and tilted, swiveled and rotated by 90 degrees. The individual setting options in the on-screen display include six game modes, functions such as Dial Point (crosshair overlay), Game Color (color saturation) and Shadow Control (shadow control).
