Assassin's Creed Rift is reportedly making a trip to Baghdad

According to reports, Assassin’s Creed Rift will be set in Badgad. Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier is responding to claims that the next installment in the well-known series will be set in an Aztec setting.

But no longer with the Aztecs?

“The next AC game is Rift, which is set in Baghdad,” he writes Reddit. “After that comes AC Infinity, and that includes a bunch of different games/experiences/biomes/whatever you want to call them, but I’ve heard of the two main ones and neither of them are Aztec.”

While Ubisoft has officially announced Assassin’s Creed Rift, rumor has it that the developer is planning a smaller, stealth-focused Assassin’s Creed game sometime this year or next.

Assassin’s Creed Rift was loud Bloomberg originally intended as an expansion for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Basim was supposed to play the main role here. However, last year Ubisoft reportedly ditched those plans and planned Rift as a standalone game.

Rift should appear before the release of the officially announced Assassin’s Creed Infinity, for which the two Ubisoft studios in Quebec and Montreal are working together.

Ubisoft itself plans to talk about the future of Assassin’s Creed in September. At the latest there we will definitely find out how Assassin’s Creed Rift is doing and where the next journey is going.
