Frontier Foundry and KeokeN Interactive have released the second Deliver Us Mars developer diary, Earth’s Last Hope.

Frontier Foundry and KeokeN Interactive have released the second developer diary for Deliver Us Mars, the sci-fi cinematic adventure launching September 27th for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store appears.

The second episode, “Earth’s Last Hope,” introduces the larger storyline of the game while also focusing on the father-daughter relationship that takes center stage.

The young astronaut Kathy Johanson is the protagonist of Deliver Us Mars. She joins an important mission to the Red Planet to recover the ARKs. The ARKs are giant colonization ships that could give humanity a chance to undo the damage that pollution and climate change have done to Earth.

Kathy has more than one reason to join the mission, however: Years earlier, Kathy’s father, Isaac, left her behind and disappeared with the ARKs, making him a wanted criminal on Earth. Now mysterious news has convinced her there’s a chance he’s still alive – and Kathy won’t stop until she finds out the truth about his whereabouts.

Earth’s Last Hope introduces the cast of Deliver Us Mars, who bring the characters to life in fully animated cinematic sequences. Ellise Chappell (Young Wallander, Poldark) plays the protagonist Kathy Johanson. Neil Newbon (Resident Evil Village, Detroit: Become Human) plays Kathy’s father, Isaac.

Working with Chappell, Newbon and the rest of the cast is part of KeokeN Interactive’s quest to create an even more cinematic sequel to 2019’s Deliver Us The Moon. As founders Paul and Koen Deetman explain in the developer diary, the philosophy behind Deliver Us Mars is “go big or go home” – and increasing narrative presentation is one of the main focuses of the sequel, which also features a greater variety of gameplay mechanics and environments offers to explore.

While Deliver Us Mars is about saving the earth, it is also a personal story about a father and his child. The relationship between Kathy and her father is portrayed in a series of flashbacks that show the player why Isaac’s decision to leave Kathy behind was so painful for both of them.
