Grand Theft Auto VI: No three playable characters as per report

Grand Theft Auto VI will be a long time coming, there are also few official details from Rockstar Games and a leak now seems to have been refuted.

Grand Theft Auto VI is officially under active development at Rockstar Games and they aim to exceed even the high expectations of the players. However, the studio is known for taking its time with their game developments, which is why a release in the immediate future seems very unlikely.

However, the longer Rockstar Games remains silent, the more scope there is for wild speculation, rumors and false insider reports. However, a GTA 6 rumor has been making the rounds on the internet lately: “Three playable characters, an open world in three cities and a story that revolves around drug use” is said to be in Grand Theft Auto VI.

The journalist Jason Schreier has now put these rumors into the realm of fables referred. According to him, considering the probable development process of the game, the story cannot be planned that far. Important story details are still being permanently revised and adjusted. Schreier also emphatically said that contrary to what the said leak claims, Grand Theft Auto 6 will not have three protagonists like GTA 5 will have. He stressed but also that he’s just saying that there won’t be three characters, not more. Journalist Jason Schreier is currently employed by Bloomberg and has been a trusted source within the industry for years.

Incidentally, Rockstar Games already seems to be providing more capacity for the development of GTA 6: The online mode of Red Dead Redemption 2 will no longer receive major content updates in the future, as the resources for the development of the next GTA game should be available. An update for the current console version also seems to be off the table at the moment.
