New Diablo Immortal Feature Causes Frustration - Takes skins from players they paid real money for

On July 20th, Diablo Immortal received a major update with many new features. One of them is the class change, with which you can easily try out other classes. But there is a lot of criticism about him right now, because not everything about the character is taken over.

What is this feature? The new update 1.5.2 for Diablo Immortal introduced the class change as a new feature. This is to try out a new class at your level without having to play a second character:

  • You choose a new class while keeping your level, paragon and clan affiliation.
  • You can fully customize the character the first time you switch.
  • You will also receive a starter set that corresponds to the level of your current equipment.

When switching, however, you will be warned that certain cosmetic items will not be carried over. But that’s exactly what causes negative comments.

You can find all information about the class change in our special. In the video we show you exactly how the class change works:

Diablo Immortal: How to change class

Here’s why players complain: in the Diablo Immortal subreddit Since the update, messages from players complaining about the missing skins have appeared again and again. Almost everything in cosmetics is affected – even if you have paid for it.

While the in-game description of the class change warns that “class-bound cosmetics” will be lost, it doesn’t specify it. In a bigger one thread on reddit writes the user Z_Zircon:

All cosmetics I paid for, none of which should be class bound (they even show up with the appropriate armor in the preview in my inventory up), are not available for use with my new class. Even the Battle Pass ones. […]

Dreadful. Like 20-30 bucks for the bin, unless I play wizard for the rest of my season – which won’t be that long then.

Even if he plays through the current Season 2 Battle Pass and gets the new Bloodsworn skin, it only applies to his current class – not one after the change.

The post and several others get a lot of approval, with many users agreeing that this design is just plain horrible and “amazing”. Some still hope that it is just an overlooked bug, but most criticize that such a thing is even possible.

Class change does not take “class bound skins” with it

Is that on purpose? In fact, the class change provides that all class-bound skins are not available. However, if you switch back to your old class, you get everything back.

However, since Diablo Immortal comes with many skins in a bundle that looks different for each character, but is at least available to everyone, the decision is incomprehensible for many fans.

Diablo Immortal apparently has a very crazy target group: fathers of young children

How else is the update going? Next to the class change, the focus on group content for troops is the biggest point of criticism. Fans agree that hardly anyone uses troops anyway – corresponding tasks should be extended to clans.

Otherwise, the update is extremely well received. The change to the Pay2Win factor was received particularly positively, as legendary emblems are now much easier to obtain for Free2Play players.

You need the emblems to get legendary gems for free. The gems are an important factor in the strength of your character. How they work and where you get them from, we show you in the video:

Thanks to events and new rewards, the emblems can now be earned much more frequently per month without spending any money on them. A change to the elder portals is particularly exciting for casual players. Because in these you can now reliably get better gems – and more of them on top of that:
