Streamer Compares TwitchCon to Zoo: “You Just Want to Closer Look at Degraded Species”

Twitch streamer Felix “xQc” Lengyel is known for being outspoken. When it comes to his personal opinion, he digs deep into his vocabulary. Now TwitchCon and its visitors have been hit.

Who is the streamer?

• With around 62,000 viewers on average and almost 11 million followers, xQc is one of the biggest streamers on Twitch.
• He started out as xQcOW, where OW is an acronym for the shooter Overwatch. He used to be a professional player, but had to give up his career because he was suspended for several misdemeanors.
• Nowadays, Lengyel gambles away several thousand euros in a few seconds by doing casino streams. He also shows how flexible he is and occasionally bites his toenails and fingernails.
• Most recently, xQc made a tier list of the badges he has on his Twitch channel for streamers, subscribers, and moderators. This is a small image that can be seen in front of the username for everyone involved in the chat. In addition to that, he talked about how he says those behind the badges behave.

xQc is one of the streamers who have been banned from Twitch quite often. You can see more bans in our video:

What did the streamer say? While xQc was creating the tier list, he was looking through his viewers’ chat logs. He wanted to know if he correctly interpreted the behavior of viewers with the respective chat badge.

A chat log showed the question, “What about TwitchCon Badges?”

To which xQc only replied: “Disease.”

However, he continued after a brief pause, “Buying a TwitchCon ticket is the same as buying an overpriced zoo ticket.”

But that wasn’t all, as xQc went even further after that:

You watch the goblins online, so you’re probably watching the goblins up close in real life. You just want to get a closer look at degraded species. That is sick!

Lengyel came to the conclusion that you have to attend such events to make your life feel more fulfilled. Sometimes you have to watch the degenerate species to see what it’s like to be a total failure.

What is a TwitchCon Badge? Anyone who buys a ticket to the show can get a badge to pick up at TwitchCon. This then also adorns the user name in the chat.

What does the community say about this? in one reddit thread one could read these statements:

• UrNotBetterThanMe says, “You buy a plane ticket, a hotel room, expensive friggin’ food, and a purple pendant just to see Mizkif having a bowl of ramen and Ludwig dressed up like Fred Jones from Scooby Doo.”
• Light_Ghost agrees with xQc: “I mean…yeah, I can’t be mad at that opinion. Very true and real.”
• BW4LL sees it differently: “Holy shit, people are so biased and project so much onto others. What if you just wanted to travel to a new place to have good food and maybe meet friends and TwitchCon was just the trigger (…).”

Most of the users in xQcs chat found the statements funny and even agreed with them. They spammed laughing emotes and “true”. Also in reddit, the majority had the same opinion as the streamer.
