After FIFA 22 now also FIFA 23 – EA deletes Russian teams and national team
EA confirmed that there will be no Russian teams in FIFA 23 either. Already in FIFA 22 they were removed from the game. EA wants during the Russian invasion solidaric stand by Ukraine.
Already in FIFA 22 all Russian teams as well as the Russian national team were removed from the game. This is now also the case in FIFA 23.
EA announced this to Eurogamer and gave the reason for the decision. Cancel the Russian teams as a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The publisher explained: All Russian teams and the national team will not be integrated in FIFA 23 from the start.

“EA Sports stands in solidarity with the Ukrainian people”
Here is how EA justifies the decision: The statement from EA Sports reads: “EA Sports stands in solidarity with the Ukrainian people and, like so many voices in the world of football, calls for peace and an end to the invasion of Ukraine”.
The statement goes on to say, “In agreement with our partners at FIFA and UEFA, EA Sports will not include the Russian national team or Russian clubs in FIFA 23” (via eurogamer.net).
Why is that not surprising? There was already a detailed statement on Twitter for FIFA 22 on March 2, 2022. The content is very similar to what EA has said to Eurogamer about FIFA 23 (via twitter.com).
With that, EA continues to stand by its decision to make a statement for Ukraine and continues in the latest installment of the soccer game.
Incidentally, FIFA 23 will be the last real FIFA game from EA. The game will then continue under the name “EA Sports FC”. It is still unclear whether Russian teams will be available in the corresponding branches. You can find out more about FIFA 23 here:
