Players intentionally lose the most important fight in Diablo Immortal - Not Wanting to be "Kings".

In fact, becoming an immortal should be the greatest achievement in Diablo Immortal. However, some players now report that they prefer to forgo this honor. They even lose the decisive battle on purpose. The “rabble” just have it better.

What is this fight? In Diablo Immortal, the 2 factions of the Shadows and Immortals fight each other continuously. In the eternal “cycle of conflict” they are constantly testing who is fit to protect and rule the world.

So this is where the “kings” are crowned, constantly being fought by the “rabble” to make sure they really are the best. The conflict culminates in an epic 30v1 battle that few see, in which the chief of the immortals becomes a real raid boss with special abilities.

Immortal should actually be the highest aspiration of all players. But there are now doubts as to whether this is really desirable. Because the immortals don’t have it so good after all.

In our video we explain more about the cycle of conflict and everything you need to know about Diablo Immortal – in 3 minutes:

What the players say: in a thread on reddit a player explains that he left the faction of the immortals before the end of the reign. The raid on the treasury that shadows can regularly do is simply missing.

He lacks Apprentice Key, Gold, and Experience. The legacy of the Horadrim can hardly be continued because of a lack of resources. The events that immortals get instead of the raid are no substitute for the absence of Legendaries and Co. There is another problem:

Your pool of available players drops below 300. That means finding a party becomes infinitely harder, especially on slower servers like the one I’m playing on. I understand that you can still use the dungeon finder, but with the cross-server messages that are creeping in, hardly anyone is doing it anymore. Posting in world chat is also an option, but not ideal.

Many players in Diablo Immortal have a problem finding groups and are locked out of progress. The user gets the approval of dozens of other players, some of whom even say: We lost on purpose. Just to be able to become shadow again.

The biggest problem is that the immortal system is based on stacking special bonuses and only making real progress on certain days. All other days are calm.

Others report quite elitist thinking. You feel obligated to do your bit – otherwise the boss will kick you out of the guild. This is how the clans become empty because nobody new can join and at some point nothing works anymore.

“Immortals need an overhaul”

Here’s why players find shadows better: According to the players, the daily tasks of the shadows are more pleasant to solve, especially for casual players. The contracts can be done on the side and even linked to other activities such as dungeons.

You have to work less to keep a good reward at the end of the week. While immortals actually get a much bigger reward, here are some black sheep that can ruin it all:

Diablo Immortal: Player throws everyone out of the clan shortly before an important event, allegedly steals 55 million gold

Also, immortals get a huge raid as compensation, Kion’s Trial. This is designed for 48 players – but can only be played by 48 selected players.

Ideally, immortals should rotate so that everyone benefits. But that doesn’t happen. The players are therefore asking for a revision of the tasks of the immortals, so that they play a little more smoothly.

There are quite a few players who have been shadows and immortals. We spoke to one of them, who has been playing every day since it was released, and asked him what he thinks of the system:
