F1 22: New free track from August 2nd

Codemasters practices post-launch support with free add-on content: Starting today, the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve, also known as Portimao, expands the track selection of the F1 simulation.

In the 2020 and 2021 Formula One season, Portimao was still part of the racing calendar, but in 2022, as is well known, the famous racetrack will no longer be there. But now there is still the chance to do a quick lap there with the vehicles that have been completely redesigned for the current season, or to have them become part of a specially created racing calendar.

Creative Director is thrilled

Lee Mather, the responsible Creative Director behind F1 22, has the following to say about the free additional content: “We know that our players love the thrill of racing on more circuits and there is nothing better than Portimao. The circuit is held in high esteem and has a proud history and our players will love the challenge of taking the cars designed for 2022 to the venerable track for the first time.”

The new slope should be available for all platforms from August 2nd. The next racetrack, which should also find its way into the game via update, is the Chinese Shanghai International Circuit.

Already on September 12th it should be ready. It is currently not known whether there will be new game modes in the future, such as the Classic Cars mode requested by fans, as a free expansion for F1 22.
