The Sony A8H is an excellent TV for most applications. Its picture quality in dark rooms is astounding, thanks to an almost unlimited contrast ratio for deep blacks without any glare. It upscales lower resolution content well, which is great for cable TV or sports. HDR content looks superb thanks to the wide color gamut and decent peak brightness, allowing most highlights to stand out. Unfortunately, it doesn’t support advanced gaming features like variable refresh rates, although the input lag is great for casual gaming and it does have remarkable motion controls. Also, OLED monitors run the risk of permanent burn-in from repeated exposure to the same static elements, which is a problem if you intend to use it as a PC monitor.
