WoW: Despite demands from the community – XP buff switched off for the time being
After only two weeks, the Blizzard developers switched off the XP buff Wind of Wisdom again. Although the community called for an extension to WoW: Dragonflight, the developers remained true to their previous intention.
When the Blizzard developers activated the XP buff Wind of Wisdom in WoW: Shadowlands on July 20, many players were delighted. Thanks to 50 percent more experience points from all sources, it suddenly leveled up much faster and was therefore also more pleasant. However, the developers already revealed when activating the buff that it will be switched off again with the start of season 4.
Meanwhile, the fourth season has started and lo and behold: The wind of wisdom has disappeared. Actually, that shouldn’t surprise anyone, but it did a little bit. Because for the entire two weeks, players have been clamoring for it on the forums or in the players’ council, keep this buff active until the Dragonflight pre-patch.
WoW developers cannot be retuned
All the demands and arguments from the players have not borne fruit. Now one could think that the developers are falling back into old patterns, in which they basically know everything better than the players. But that is only partially the case. Because it was never the intention of the developers that players can use it to prepare for Dragonflight. This was emphasized by Community Manager Kaivax in the forum:

Thank you for this feedback. We selected the timing of this buff to specifically benefit players who were preparing for Season 4.
We’re always thinking about when might be the right time to do an XP buff again in the future, and we do not have any immediate plans to announce at this time, but we’ll take this feedback into account when considering future leveling bonus events.
In plain language, the intention of the XP buff was that the players could prepare for the 4th season and bring one or the other class to the maximum level. While the developers don’t have any current plans for the buff’s return, they’re taking note of the feedback. So it’s almost safe to assume that we’ll have another round during Shadowlands wind of wisdom will see so players can then prepare for Dragonflight.
Do you have the XP buff wind of wisdom exploited or do you already have all important characters at the maximum level? In any case, we would be very happy if the buff came back to the servers before the upcoming expansion to simplify any class changes.
