WoW: Dragonflight: Welcome the new Shadow Dance Outlaw!
who our Overview of the skills and talents of the villains in WoW: Dragonflight read, you may have noticed: The Powerful Ability shadow dance, which has been at the core of subterfuge play for many years, is one of the class talents available to all rogue specializations in the upcoming World of Warcraft expansion. In this article, we take a look at what this premiere could mean for all outlaw villains.
Outlaws as shadow dancers
Unlike Subterfuge and Backstab, Outlaw relies primarily on pure physical damage, which is affected by armor. As such, there is no other rogue specialization that benefits as much from Find Weakness as outlaws.
- Find weakness in Dragonflight: Your stealth abilities reveal a weak spot in your opponent’s defenses, causing all of your attacks to bypass 20 percent (40 percent for two points) of their armor for 10 seconds.
Shadow Dance, in turn, allows you to use stealth abilities for nine seconds and benefit from all stealth combat bonuses. In addition, the damage is increased by ten percent. Your outlaw can therefore always trigger the effect of find weakness in fights.
But that’s not the only synergy exciting for outlaws. There are a number of talents in the new rogue talent trees that revolve around improving the stealth attack Ambush, which of course you would then use extensively during Shadow Dance:
- Improved Ambush (Standard tree): Ambush has a 50/100 percent chance to generate an additional combo point.
- heavy hitters (Outlaw Tree): Ambush supercharges a combo point for 45 seconds. Finishing moves that consume the same number of combo points as your Supercharge function as if they consumed seven combo points.
- audacity (Outlaw Tree): The reduced cost of using Pistol Shot has a 35% chance of allowing you to use your next Ambush without stealth.
- Hidden Opportunity (Outlaw Tree): Effects that grant Sinister Strike an additional hit chance also affect Ambush.
- chance calculation (Outlaw Tree): Ambush and Kill have a ten percent (20 percent) chance to grant you a combat buff from Destiny Dice you don’t already have for five seconds. Duration and chance are tripled in stealth mode.
At this point we must not forget the talent Take’em by Surprisewhich promises you 20 percent (!) more speed during stealth and up to 20 seconds after leaving stealth.

Fate cube in turbo mode
When you combine the Calculation of Odds talent with the other enhancements centered around the Dice of Destiny talent ability from the Outlaw tree, another synergy arises that can provide you with five or more combat bonuses at once for a longer period of time. Here are the key talents for this synergy that we haven’t featured yet:
- fate cube (Outlaw Tree): Rolls the dice of fate and grants a random combat bonus for 30 seconds (45 second cooldown).
- big throw (Outlaw Tree): Increases the remaining duration of your active combat buffs received from Destiny Dice by 30 seconds (5 minute cooldown).
- Marked dice (Outlaw Tree): After activating Adrenaline Rush, the next use of Doom Cube grants you at least two matches.
- Restless Blades (Outlaw Tree): Finishers reduce the cooldown of Great Throw, Adrenaline Rush, and Doom Cube, among others, by one second for each combo point invested.
- manual dexterity (Outlaw Tree): Cube of Destiny has a 10% increased chance of granting additional doubles.
So the idea is to activate an improved Destiny Cube after Adrenaline Rush and then trigger further combat bonuses with Shadow Dance and Ambush, which are then extended by Big Throw – which in turn provides a huge DpS and resource boost over a period of at least 30 seconds .
Of course, you then invest the combo points gained in finishers, which ultimately shorten the important cooldowns for the next Saiyan super phase. And thanks Restless crew Even your party will benefit: “Restless Blades also affects party members within 40 meters and reduces the remaining cooldown of a key offensive ability by 0.2 seconds per combo point invested.” Sounds exciting, doesn’t it?
