Wave Race 64 Coming to Nintendo Switch Online: Any Signs of a Comeback?
Update August 16, 2022: Nintendo has shared a new trailer for Wave Race 64’s comeback. The game will be released on August 19, 2022 for Nintendo Switch Online and is also part of the expansion pack.
The only question now is when will a new Wave Race game come out?
Original report from April 18, 2021: The responsible “Wave Race” developer from Nintendo has indirectly confirmed with a teaser that a new wave race produced becomes. So the series will probably be revived soon.
How much fun we had back then Wave Race 64 on the old one Nintendo 64 had! It’s been a long time since we last played with the racing title on the 64-bit console and yet the classic could return very soon. Wave Race seems to be making a comeback on the Nintendo Switch.
In fact, we were allowed for the first time on the Game Boy in 1992 With Wave Race put up with. The Nintendo 64 came up trumps with Wave Race 64 as a sequel before the series launched in 2001 gamecube came to an end for the time being. Yet Wave Race: Blue Storm probably won’t be the last we hear of the racing game from the house Nintendo have seen.
New Wave Race is coming!
During the British Academy Games Awards the responsible director of “Wave Race 64” from Nintendo has announced a small hint. Shinya Takahashi teased a new wave race here as follows:
“You will probably see the game again. […] We tried to develop many games. This could be one of them. And I personally love Wave Race!“
For those hearing the name of the series for the first time, Wave Race is a racing game that comes with jet skis on water. Here you have to compete against other players and win first place.
We’re excited to see what a remake might look like and will let you know when new details are revealed.
