Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed release date is now officially set

The asymmetrical ghost hunt hits consoles and PC just in time for Halloween. Pre-orderers who decide to buy now will receive a few goodies to start with.

Four players, three ghost hunters and one player who takes on the role of Hui Buh can shoot each other with proton beam and slime starting October 18th. Optionally, certain slots can also be filled by bots for a match and there are small missions for single players, which do not hide the fact that Ghostbusters wants to follow in the footsteps of Dead by Daylight, Friday the 13th or the recently released Evil Dead: The Game .

An out of body experience

Charles Brungardt, CEO of IllFonic, the publisher behind Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed, expressed his excitement about the upcoming release in the press release: “We were blown away by the reaction from Ghostbusters fans. Announcing a date and opening pre-orders for Ghostbusters : Spirits Unleashed feels like an out-of-body experience. And we can’t wait for everyone to feel the same on Tuesday October 18th.”

While the players use the PKE meter to search for paranormal activities in an old prison and a museum and let the proton beam speak in an emergency, it is possible for the ghost to trigger mass hysteria, take over certain objects and slow down the ghost hunters with slime attacks .

The developers want to present more locations and features at Gamescom 2022. After pressing the buy button, pre-orderers will get access to the popular slimer, a special proton pack and additional clothing options just in time for the release.

Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed will be available on October 18th for PC, PS4, PS5 and Xbox Series S|X.
