gamescom 2023: The date of the trade fair and Opening Night Live for next year are already set

gamescom 2022 is currently in full swing in Cologne, but the trade fair has already announced when it will start again next year. So pull out your appointment calendar and circle the date for the trade fair week and of course the Opening Night Live 2023 in red:

  • When is the Opening Night Live 2023? The next ONL is on August 22, 2023. There is no official time yet, but we can probably expect another start around 8 p.m.
  • When does gamescom 2023 start? Next year gamescom will run from August 23rd to 27th, 2023.

That shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone, after all, gamescom traditionally takes place around the last weekend in August and is thus adhering to this specification this time as well. The fair will probably take place on site again like this year, but there is no official confirmation yet.

Even when it comes to the official program of gamescom 2023, we will probably have to be patient for quite a while. So far only the date of the Opening Night Live is known. That will almost certainly be hosted by host Geoff Keighley again and will bring news about games.

After a two-year break, the fair is taking place again this year. Still, our GamePro survey found that many of you aren’t going. Just 41% are in Cologne on at least one of the days. The reason for many of you, in addition to the ongoing pandemic situation, is that there are simply too many large exhibitors like Sony or Nintendo missing.
