Just like its two predecessors, Resident Evil 4 is getting an extensive remake. This has now been officially announced for the Last Gen console PS4. So we can not only play the new edition on PS5, Xbox Series S/X and PC. There was no mention of an Xbox One version, but there is a solution for that too.

Resident Evil 4: The Remake is also coming to the PS4

That’s what it’s about: Resident Evil 4 is undergoing a makeover. The remake should be very similar to the Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 reboots. So with nice, new graphics, revised gameplay and even more horror. Here you can see a first teaser:

Also announced for PS4: So far, the Resi 4 remake was only announced for the PS5, the Xbox Series S/X and the PC. But that changed with the Tokyo Game Show (TGS) 2022: It is now clear that the new version will also appear for the old PS4 (via: VG24/7).

There will be more to see soon: Capcom wants to reveal more about the Resident Evil 4 remake with its own Resident Evil showcase. This is supposed to take place next month, but the developers have not yet revealed an exact date for it.

What about an Xbox One version of Resident Evil 4 Remake?

Apparently no Xbox One version: Apparently, the Resident Evil 4 remake will only be released for the PS4 and no longer for the Xbox One. This could be due to an exclusive deal with Sony, but we don’t know more about it. An Xbox One version may also be coming and it just hasn’t been announced yet.

We checked with Capcom and got an answer. Currently they have no news on whether an Xbox One version of the Resi 4 remake is planned.

But you can stream: If you really want to play Resident Evil 4 Remake on Xbox One, you can do so via Xbox cloud streaming. All you need is an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription and an Xbox (or a smartphone or tablet, you can also use a PC). Then you simply stream the title from the cloud. Soon maybe also directly on the TV:

Unfortunately, we don’t know too much about the Resident Evil 4 remake yet. The information remains quite sparse so far. At least one video already seems to indicate that we are about to make a pretty massive change compared to the original. This could dramatically affect the feel of the game.

What do you think of a PS4 version coming as well?
