EA officially launches its new launcher for PC

EA has officially replaced its Origin PC client with a new app, more than 10 years after its original introduction.

announced in a blog postthe EA App, which has been in open beta for some time, will soon replace the Origin client with what EA calls its “fastest, lightest PC client to date.”

According to EA, the new app has a more streamlined design and does automatic game downloads and updates in the background. Players can also link their friend lists with other platforms such as Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation.

Local and cloud saves will be automatically transferred to the new client, which players will be invited to download soon, according to EA.

However, Mac gamers will not receive the new app just yet. “Origin for Mac is still the place where you can access your games”, EA has stated.
