Pokémon Go: Unleashed Hoopa in the top raid – the best counters in the guide!

Well ho(o)ppla, what’s new in Pokémon Go? Top Raids! The EX raids have been missing for a long time and now Niantic has apparently taken care of the matter. Because as we find out, they dive Top Raid Eggs exclusively in EX Raid Arenas on – and Unleashed Hoopa is already a very clear announcement! Besides that Until now, Hoopa could only be caught through special researchHoopa and Unleashed Hoopa are very powerful counters for specific raid battles.

Don’t be fooled by the fact that top raids are “only” marked with 5 Rizeros symbols – because such a top raid is a completely different number than a tier 5 raid. If you remember when Mega Latias and Mega Latios appeared in the Mega Raids, which suddenly became Tier 6, you can already imagine what kind of fighting power it takes to survive against Unleashed Hoopa.

Unleashed Hoopa as a raid boss

Unleashed Hoopa is a dual type of Psychic and Dark. Thus, his biggest weakness is the bug type. Bug-type attacks are boosted when it’s raining. So keep an eye on the weather indicator in the top right of the overworld map in the Pokémon Go app if you want to get the most out of your attackers! If you’re not that good at attackers with bug-type attacks, you can also fall back on fairy-types. However, these cause a lot less damage and in a top raid you should really get attackers with bug-type attacks on your team if possible.

Unleashed Hoopa faces you with a whopping 66,170 CP and has an extremely high attack value! So be prepared that it will pour your Pokémon properly – especially if you are out in the rain or fog weather conditions. Due to the power of Unleashed Hoopa, you should have at least five trainers – as long as you’re at a high level with the perfect counters! Since top raids have a 24-hour lead time, finding other Pokémon Go players to fight shouldn’t be a problem. Below is a list of the best counters to Unleashed Hoopa.
