Be careful, LoL permanently bans innocent players because they buy a new item that is far too powerful
In League of Legends there is a new item on the test server that you should definitely not buy. The “Heartsteel” tank item triggers a permanent ban and is currently catching some players who want to test new items in LoL. Riot is already working on a fix.
This is the situation: The Worlds are currently running in LoL. It’s about everything for the best players in the world.
In the game, however, the “experimental phase” has begun. After the end of Season 12 and before the start of Season 13, Riot Games is experimenting with daring changes on the test server PBE.
But an innovation is now apparently going horribly wrong.
New tank item gives permanent life points, is way too strong
What is this item?
- Heartsteel is a new Mythic item for 3200 gold that grants health and health regeneration, as well as some skill haste. The item was previously called “Goliath’s Ascendancy”
- The gag of the item: You can use it to hit a hit that is stronger the more maximum life you have. Even harder: The blow permanently adds life points to your own hero, so you always become powerful. The experts call this “infinite scaling”.
- When the item came up on the test server a week ago, some people gave up reddit same: The item is too crass, especially with the permanent life points as a bonus. Everyone plays it in ARAM, because it’s so easy to get permanent life points with it that practically everyone becomes a tank.
One user has already taken the item to the absurd and shot himself up to an unbelievably high number of life points, so that he then hits the proc extremely hard with numbers that are beyond comprehension.
One can probably assume that Heartsteel will not come to the live servers in this form, but will remain a wild experiment in the pre-season.
Players are permanently banned for cheating – apparently due to item
This is now the problem with the item: As one LoL player said on Twitter on October 27th, he and fellow players have now been permanently banned after a match on the test server.
They were accused of using a “third party tool” or a “cheating program”. He couldn’t even explain what was going on.
Other users too reddit say they were suddenly banned for cheating on the PBE – they can’t explain it at all.
One says: He only plays against bots, you don’t cheat there. He has invested so much in his account, has everything from the shop – that would be a huge loss.
Many other users who are also banned report to the discussion under the thread. What they have in common is that all of them bought the new item “Heartsteel”.
Riot drastically changes LoL with the next patch – “Probably the only change that will bring me back”
Riot says: Riot Games has not yet commented on whether the bans on the PBE are really due to Heartsteel.
But they say they got a lot of reports of such bans “at the same time” so are looking at it and working “hard on a fix”.
However, there is still no date when the players will be released again,
This information is shared by a player who wrote a support ticket and received a reasonable answer. Not everyone can say that: Some users share answers from Riot Games who reject their complaint and simply say: You would have looked at it, the ban was right and will remain in place.
But one can assume that Riot Games will solve the problem with the permanent PBE bans soon – we will probably not see the item anymore.
