Callisto explores brutality and horror in new behind the scenes

The Callisto Protocol of Striking Distance Studios it has recently gone Gold, but it’s still several weeks away from launch. In the meantime, they have released a new documentary series “Mastering Horror”, which addresses various aspects behind the development. They already released the mini-documentary about its oppressive atmosphere.

In this episode they focus on brutality and its use to create shocking moments. Director Glen Schofield talks about watching two horror movies in particular and how their depictions of raw violence stuck with him. In that sense, actor Josh Duhamel (who plays the protagonist Jacob Lee) points out that the team does not throw any punches in The Callisto Protocol.

It’s an interesting watch, especially when it comes to the design of the Biophages and how having an element of humanity makes them that much scarier.

The Callisto Protocol It will be released on December 2 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC. Interestingly, Schofield is already thinking about a sequel.
