God of War Ragnarok: Which PS5 Graphics Mode Should I Use?

How many modes are there? Total there on the PS5 even six different graphics modes, from which you can choose. If you play “God of War Ragnarök” on the PS4, there are still three. The choice can be difficult.

These are the modes: On the PS5, the range of graphics modes is divided into the settings that are more like the Performance and a high frame rate (HFR) favor and those who designed more for image and display quality are.

Then there is one more time Differences in terms of 4K resolution and some modes are only available to you if your TV has HDMI 2.1. The latter allows you to use a variable refresh rate (VRR).

  • Performance favored – 1440-2160P at max 60 FPS
  • Performance Favored* + HFR – 1440P at 60-120 FPS
  • Performance Favored* + HFR + VRR – 1440P at 60-120 FPS
  • Quality favored – 2160P (native 4K**) at max. 30 FPS
  • Quality Favored* + HFR – 1800-2160P at max 40 FPS
  • Quality Favored + HFR + VRR – 1800-2160P at 40 FPS

*requires TV with HDMI2.1**requires 4K screen.

Which one should I take? First of all, it depends on whether your screen or TV can display 4K at all. The next question is whether all HDMI 2.1 functions are supported and whether your device can display up to 120 FPS or has 120 Hz.

Last, but not least, you have to decide whether you prefer a slightly prettier, sharper and more detailed image want to see, or if you value more on one smoother display that appears less jerky or blurred.

With an action-packed title like God of War Ragnarök it’s usually worth it, rather on performance to put. However, 30 FPS doesn’t bother some players and many swear by it that after a short time you get used to it anyway.

If you use a 4K and 120 Hz TV with an HDMI 2.1 connectionyou can confidently click on the 40FPS/40Hz mode set with variable refresh rate. It looks absolutely stunning and is also pleasantly smooth to play.
