Originally released in 2011, Batman: Arkham City still has its fans. So it is that an HD texture pack has now been released on NexusMods, which was in development for a total of six years.

Modder GPUnity has now released a new HD texture pack for the Batman: Arkham City Game of the Year Edition. Batman: Arkham City originally launched in 2011 and was relaunched a year later with the Game of the Year Edition, which includes all released DLCs. GPUnity’s mod has been in development for a total of six years and is now available to download via NexusMods.

Now the modder GPUnity wants to breathe new life into the game on the PC. The modder had released other HD texture packs in the past, for example for the action game Nier: Automata. Now the modder has released his textures for Batman: Arkham City, which he has been working on for six years.

“I wanted the game to get the love it deserves,” GPUnity said of Arkham City. According to the modder, his project features over a thousand upscaled, retouched, and refined textures. Many of the new textures are even hand-drawn, according to GPUnity. In addition, the mod offers full DirectX 11 support and an uncomplicated, one-time installation. the mod Arkham City Redux aims to update the look of the characters and environments without changing the original aesthetic.
