Pokémon GO brings 2 new Pokémon to the Mysterious Blade event, but only one with a ticket

In Pokémon GO, the event “Mysterious Blade” starts on Tuesday. This is where Keldeo and Krabbox appear for the first time in the game. But only those who buy a ticket for 8 dollars get to see both.

What is this event? At this event, Pokémon GO wants to unlock two new Pokémon for you in the game. Keldeo, the Mythical Pokémon from Generation 5, and Krabbox, from Generation 7. Although you can easily encounter Krabbox in the wild, Keldeo hides behind a special research that you can only unlock with a paid ticket.

When does it start? The event starts on Tuesday (December 6) at 10:00 local time. It then ends Sunday, December 11 at 20:00 local time.

New Pokemon for everyone: Krabbox, the boxing fighting Pokémon from the seventh generation of games, becomes available. It belongs to the combat type.

New Pokemon for a fee: If you buy a ticket for the special research “Something Extraordinary”, you can use it to unlock an encounter with Keldeo in the standard form. It belongs to the Water and Combat types. With Cobalion, Terrakium and Virizion it forms the Knights of Righteousness.

Pokemon in the wild: In the wild you will often encounter Menki*, Machollo*, Kicklee*, Nockchan*, Kapoera*, Jungglut, Makuhita*, Meditie*, Panpyro and, with luck, Quappo and Krabbox. (You can meet Pokemon marked with a * as Shiny)

During field research you will meet Galar-Porenta*, Kicklee*, Nockchan* or Kapoera*. If you complete the event’s Collector’s Challenge, you’ll receive an Instant TM and a Charged TM.

Raids: During the event, certain Pokémon will be available in raids:

There are also exclusive attacks for Terrakium, Virizion and Keldeo:

  • If you catch Virizion between December 1st and December 8th, you will learn Sanctoblade
  • If you catch Terrakion between December 8th and December 15th, you will learn Sanctoblade
  • If you catch Keldeo during the special research “Something Extraordinary”, you will learn Sanctoblade
  • Sanctoblade deals 60 damage in Trainer Battles and 55 damage in Arena Battles and Raids

The Special Research “Something Extraordinary”

What is that? This Special Research will not unlock for all Trainers. You can only get them if you buy the matching ticket for 8 dollars. Tickets will be available in the Pokémon GO Store starting December 6 at 10:00 a.m. local time and will remain available until December 11 at 8:00 p.m.

Trainers who have purchased a ticket can participate in Special Research during the Mysterious Blade event. To do this, you must open Pokémon GO once between Saturday (December 10 at 10:00 a.m.) and Sunday (December 11 at 8:00 p.m.) to activate the research.

You can then complete the research at any time. The only important thing is that you activate it in the time window.

What’s the point? With the ticket you unlock the special research that gives you a Keldeo in the standard form. Research also gives you:

  • Keldeo t-shirt for your avatar
  • 14 special candies
  • 12 Silver Pineapple Berries
  • 2 incubators
  • 2 Super Incubators
  • 2 smoke
  • Encounters with various Fighting-type Pokémon and Water-type Pokémon
  • and more content.

There is also an increased effectiveness of smoke if you ignite it during the event. (Note that the daily smoke is excluded from these bonuses).
