WoW: Emergency maintenance over – the Dragonflight servers are back online!
The fact that WoW: Dragonflight has a few errors and bugs shouldn’t surprise anyone who is currently on the Dragon Islands. From massive lags to permanent disconnections, everything is included. Now even the entire server is going offline because Blizzard is conducting emergency maintenance.
Update: The developers were much faster than many expected. The servers are back online and hopefully working better now than before. Have fun playing!
Original message: WoW: Dragonflight will probably not be remembered as the extension that came to the live server particularly bug-free. Although the launch went reasonably well (by MMO standards), many players have been struggling with various recurring errors and bugs since the release. Wrong loot drops, mobs disappear, ores appear in the wall or in the air, and the Azure Mountains have been completely unplayable for a long time due to lag.
In addition, there are countless other, albeit mostly minor, problems that are currently stuck on the technical side of Dragonflight. The developers, on the other hand, are working flat out on these issues at the same time. Apparently, some of the problems are a bit more serious than assumed. And instead of continuing to push out piecemeal hotfixes, Blizzard’s developers have now taken a more drastic step and temporarily taken the servers offline.
The Battle.net launcher also reads: “The game is currently undergoing emergency maintenance and will be unavailable while this maintenance is ongoing. We apologize for the inconvenience caused.”

But neither on Twitter nor anywhere else can the developers be elicited when the servers will go online again. While the maintenance doesn’t affect as many players at lunchtime as it does at other times of the day, few will be happy about it. Especially since it is not clear whether the servers will be online again for the evening rush.
The developers have also not revealed why the emergency maintenance has to be inserted. We’re pretty sure they will, though. After all, the devs have been more talkative than ever before for a few months and only recently spoke in detail about some of WoW’s technical problems (buy now ): Dragonflight talked about in a major blog post.
