Pokémon: First Crimson and Crimson trading card expansions introduced

Following the release of Pokémon Crimson and Crimson, the trading card game will also switch to the new games.

Crimson & Crimson, the first expansion inspired by the two new video games, has now been announced. It will be released on March 31, 2023.

Return of the Pokemon Ex

The Pokemon-ex mechanic also returns with Crimson & Crimson. Pokémon-ex can appear at any stage of development and have high HP, powerful attacks, and abilities.

But: If your opponent Knocks Out a Pokémon-ex, he or she secures two prize cards for it.

In addition, there are adjustments to the map design. There will be no more yellow borders here in the future. These will be gray in the future, bringing them in line with the maps that will be released in Japan.

The goal is a uniform look worldwide, and the illustrations should also be shown to their best advantage.

“Also, subcategories for trainer cards – like support, item, and stadium – appear in the top left corner for better visibility on the hand,” it says. “Basic energy cards have an additional energy icon in the bottom right corner for easier tracking during gameplay, and expansion icons are replaced with expansion codes and language codes on all cards.”
