Graphics cards in white: Galax with variants for RTX 4080 and 4090

from Alexander Pensler
Graphics card manufacturer Galax has introduced new editions of its “Serious Gamer” series. The GPU producer now has an RTX 4090 and an RTX 4080 with a new cooler design on offer. The facelift based on Ada Lovelace also comes all in white.

There is still movement in the market for Nvidia’s board partners: Galax Microsystems is expanding its product portfolio with two more RTX 4000 graphics cards. These are an RTX 4090 and an RTX 4080, which can be overclocked using software. These two new graphics processors are called “GALAX GeForce RTX 4090 SG White 1-Click OC” and “GALAX GeForce RTX 4080 16GB SG White 1-Click OC”.

Apart from the color, these SKUs are identical to previously announced name variants without the addition “White”, who are completely black. Both GPUs use the same cooler design, which means that both SKUs measure 7.4 cm thick and 35.2 cm long. The Geforce 4090 SKU comes with an AD102 as an Ada Lovelace full configuration and has 24 GiB of video memory based on GDDR6X. The Galax SKU of the Geforce RTX 4080 is cut by the AD103 as usual in CUDA core number and boost clock, 16 GiB GDDR6X RAM is installed as memory. Both graphics units can be overclocked using the manufacturer’s software without voiding the warranty using the 1-Click-OC function.

GALAX GeForce RTX 4090 SG White 1-Click OC

  • GPU: AD102 with 16,384 CUDA cores
  • Memory: 24 GiB GDDR6X at 21 Gbps
  • Boost Clock: 2580MHz / 2595MHz (1-Click OC)

GALAX GeForce RTX 4080 16GB SG White 1-Click OC

  • GPU: AD103 with 9,728 CUDA cores
  • Memory: 16 GiB GDDR6X at 22.4 Gbps
  • Boost Clock: 2565MHz / 2580MHz (1-Click OC)

Strictly speaking, these two new products are not a triple-fan design: an optional fourth fan in white can be placed on the back of these GPUs. While Galax lists the two new SKUs on its website with specs, retailers are not yet stocking the cards. A euro price is therefore not yet known. Incidentally, too Asus with white editions based on RTX 4080 and 4090.
