FIFA 22 annoys players with endless tasks – too much effort for too little reward

FIFA 22 tasks

There are numerous objectives to complete for rewards in FIFA 22. However, they can be very time-consuming, which annoys some players.

When you log into Ultimate Team, you can find the goals and milestones to complete in FIFA 22 in just a few clicks. They bring a wide variety of rewards – from XP to packs to players.

Especially at the current TOTS event there are a lot of exciting cards that you can secure there: For example the Team-of-the-Season version of Dante, Ajorque or Maxim.

The good thing is that you can get the cards by playing without buying packs. However, there is criticism of how much effort the players sometimes mean.

No room for the extra tasks in FIFA 22?

That’s the problem: Large parts of the weekly goals and milestones with player rewards in FIFA 22 take place in friendly match modes. This means that they sometimes have special requirements and can be completed without your players losing contracts.

Also, losing doesn’t affect your tally or coin boost per game, so you can give up early with no consequences. This “golden goal system” has become popular and has even become its own mode.

So having the objectives take place in friendlies brings certain benefits and was a new solution in FIFA 22, having previously taken place in competitive modes like Division Rivals or Weekend League. This created the problem of strong players dropping down the ranks to make it easier to complete objectives – which spoiled the fun for players in the lower leagues.

Lots of tasks require lots of games

But now there is a new problem with the tasks: Because they now take place in the friendlies, you have another field that you have to work on. You can no longer play in Rivals, earn points for the Weekend League and solve the tasks at the same time. And then there are the Squad Battles and FUT Champions, which you might want to play if in doubt.

This is what the community says: The FIFA subreddit is currently discussing that some players find the effort involved in the goals too high. As a user writes:

Anyone else think the number of games you have to play for objectives is ridiculous?

Seriously: 20 games with teams mostly made up of weak leagues, 10-15 potential for Dante, 8 for Ajorque. And that’s before the 8 games for “good” Rivals rewards, Icon Swaps, FUT Champs Qualification and up to 20 games in Champs.

The post started a decent discussion with over 100 comments. There, some players address the fact that it has simply become too much for them:

  • “Yeah, that’s why I don’t play them. Rivals, WL, and the occasional Squad Battles game is enough for me,” one user wrote (via reddit).
  • “Since they moved goals from rivals to friendlies I’ve almost completely given up on them. I pretty much only play weekends, and I can’t sacrifice all those games to a useless playlist,” wrote another (via reddit): “Also in Rivals, it was possible to passively complete objectives (e.g. complete a Brazilian objective when you have a Brazilian team, which is no longer the case).

There are also dissenting voices. One remarks that you only have to meet certain goals – and not all of them. Only the ones you really like. However, other players find that the effort is not necessarily worth it:

For me it kind of depends. For example, maps like Ajorque, with the Saudi/Belgian Pro/Turkish League objectives, are too much for what those maps are. These cards are mediocre cards that many people will not use. Cards like Dante or Fati are something different for me because they are actually usable, solid to good cards. The grind doesn’t bother me because they’re really worth it.

Others also emphasize that the relationship simply has to be right. However, certain tasks, such as for the current TOTS tokens, simply would not keep up here. They are simply too expensive for the rewards they ultimately bring.

Anyway, the reward system in FIFA 22 is always an impetus for discussions. Because: You also have to play a lot in the other modes in order to ultimately get good rewards.

That’s been scaled back with the Weekend League, which is down from 30 games this year to 20, but with Division Rivals and qualifying, there’s still plenty of time to put in.

The alternative to the grind is that you buy a lot of packs in FIFA 22. But because of the luck factor, there is a high risk that in the end you will not get the equivalent value that you were hoping for.

How do you see the tasks in FIFA 22? Do you think the requirements are reasonable, or are they too much? Tell us in the comments.
