Destiny 2: This is how you can quickly get shiny dust in 2022 – because if you don’t want to spend real money, you have to farm

In Destiny 2, dust is worth a lot, especially when it’s shiny. But most of the time the guardians have too little shiny dust or none at all, so that their shopping wishes often fail. So that this doesn’t happen to you again, MeinMMO has a few tips on how to always have enough glitter dust to get by in the space shooter without real money.

In addition to glimmer and legendary fragments, shiny dust is probably the most coveted material in Destiny 2. Because if you want to be stylish in the space shooter but don’t want to spend real money, you have to earn a large pile of it.

What is shine dust and what do you need it for? In Destiny 2 you only need Bright Dust for the in-game shop, the Eververse. In order to shop there, the guardians can either buy real money in the form of silver or earn the dusty free currency called Luster Dust.

This “Swabian-thrifty” keeper saves for something very special – he just doesn’t know what yet.

The range of Eververse is always full of temptations, so that Guardians can increase their collection of cosmetics there at any time. Keepers can then either purchase these offered cosmetics directly for Silver, or check to see if they will also be available for Bright Dust at a later date.

  • On offer are legendary and exotic Sparrow creations.
  • Various exotic weapon skins.
  • Different armor ornaments as exotic skins or legendary sets.
  • As well as emotes, shaders, teleport effects or spirit shells.

Every week there are new offers for Bright Dust in Eververse.

Especially for events, such as the current solstice or Halloween, Bungie keeps filling the shop shelves with thematically appropriate cosmetic items that you can only get during the events. Then the shopping mood of the guardians is usually at its peak and the level of shiny dust in the inventory is completely burned out afterwards.

So it’s time to fill your pockets with glitter dust again, because the next cool cosmetic that you don’t want to do without is mostly unexpected.

This is how you earn Shine Dust

There are currently a few methods that Wardens can use to quickly and effectively acquire Bright Dust in Destiny 2. But only two of them are specific methods.

  • The first method is farmable, so it can be repeated indefinitely.
  • Method two is via lockable Seasonal Challenges and the Season Pass

Farm Bright Dust infinitely: If you want to actively farm Bright Dust, it’s very easy to do so via the merchant’s repeatable bounties.

But be careful: almost every NPC offers you the option for repeatable bounties against Glimmer, but not all of them also grant bright dust after their completion, such as Banshee-44, the weapon master. So you have to look carefully here.

For guardians, however, the bounties of the vanguard with Commander Zavala or secondarily those of the crucible with Lord Shaxx have proven to be popular for farming bright dust. These are often the easiest to do.

  • An additional “Random Bounty” will cost you 3000 Glimmer.
  • When the raid is complete, you get 10 Bright Dust each time.
  • This farm method can also be repeated as often as you like.

Also consider event bounties: Incidentally, when an event is active, the event NPC, in this case Eva Levante, will also offer you repeatable, additional bounties. They also grant 10 Bright Dust, making them a good additional source.

You can get random bounties, for example, from Commander Zavala or during events.

Bright Dust from Challenges and the Season Pass: In addition to this active farm method via additional bounties, there are other places in Destiny 2 where you can dust off shiny dust.

  • By completing seasonal challenges of the current season.
  • About the free and paid part of the season pass.
  • By completing the weekly playlist challenges.
  • And with luck, through Bright Engrams

Bright Dust from Seasonal Challenges

A season in Destiny 2 brings challenges into play each week for a while that Guardians can complete. Including those that can bring you a different amount of Bright Dust.

So much glitter dust is in the challenges: The amounts of Bright Dust you receive per challenge completed will vary based on their difficulty. They usually grant you between 75 and 300 bright dust after their completion.

If you master all challenges, you get “Big Pile of Bright Dust” – namely 4000.

Bright Dust through the Season Pass

Almost automatically, Guardians can earn their Bright Dust through the Season Pass by playing continuously, earning Experience Points (XP), and thereby working your way up to level 100.

This applies to both Free-2-Play players and Guardians who have purchased the Season Pass. However, the free version throws off less shiny dust.

  • On the free route, the guardians up to level 100 receive a total of 7,500 bright dust.
  • The paid route of the Season Pass, on the other hand, offers 10,500 Bright Dust up to level 100.

Other bright dust sources

In addition to these two methods, there are also certain objectives that also give the Guardians some Bright Dust. These include, for example, the weekly challenges of the ritual playlists or a little bit of luck.

  • Weekly Playlists and Event Challenges grant 120-200 Bright Dust upon completion.
  • Bright Engrams that you receive from time to time as you progress may contain a “Small Gift of Bright Dust.” This then contains 250-1000 Bright Dust, depending on your luck.

For a better overview, we have listed the current sources again in this bright dust table:
